Escape Beach in Alsancak
Alsancak Beach

Welcome to one of the sunniest blogs around, officially inspired by Cyprus!

As the third largest island in the Mediterranean (after Sicily and Sardinia), we must say that Cyprus has a very sunny personality for more than 300 days a year. This means that even if it's raining, you might come across a lovely rainbow on the way.

While there is so much to share with you about this natural beauty; it might be a good idea to embark on an imaginary journey for a day! Ladies and gentlemen! Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the flight!

Up and jump!

"Good morning!" Can you feel the energy of the majestic Beşparmak mountains, the perfect classic blue color of the Mediterranean or the fragrant trees? Waking up early is one of the best things to do when a new and glorious day is waiting at your door! But first, how would you like your breakfast? Spoiler warning! Halloumi cheese, Cyprus' special "çakıstes" olives and cheese-filled pastries will share the lead roles in this delicious film. After a hearty breakfast, what's on the menu?

A little walk in nature or a dip in the sea if it's summer,... whatever you feel like, this beautiful place is always ready to inspire you! Cyprus is always popular for adrenaline sports, and cycling and hiking routes are great routes where you can recharge your body and enjoy some surprises along the way: Have you ever followed a queen's footsteps on a hiking trail that ends in her castle? Well, once you step onto the Hilarion Castle trail, you'll understand what we mean. Lots of fresh air and increased energy levels... It's that time of day when no one wants to say no to a delicious lunch.

No rush! A delicious lunch is on the way...

Lots of fresh air and increased energy levels... It's that time of day when no one wants to say no to a delicious lunch. Be careful though, the colorful Cypriot food will make you fall in love with it, just like it did with the locals before. Molehiya, Cypriot potato dumplings, boiled tarhana soup, magarına bulli (macaroni with halloumi cheese and grilled chicken), pastries filled with spinach... If these dishes from different seasons come together, who knows what wonderful stories they would tell each other. We promise you will hear the best ever!

How about some history lessons in the afternoon?

If you still haven't read the book "Homo Sapiens" written by Yuval Noah Harari, let us invite you to the traces of our talented ancestors: The first traces of human life in Cyprus go back to ancient times. Just think about it - these areas, where Aphrodite was born, have always been the most precious part of the kingdoms and empires, and they have been called by 128 different names throughout history. Different stories, hidden in every corner of the island... All the monasteries, castles, mosques, churches... So much so that while following the colorful doors in the narrow streets of Girne harbor, you may come across the ruins of a very old castle . Let's just take our time to enjoy rose-flavored Turkish delight with a cup of Cypriot coffee and relax while all the historical information sinks in.

Good evening!

Cypriot evenings are known to welcome you with the finest local delicacies such as sheftali kebabs, various Cypriot meze and extraordinary wines from the island. The island can turn you into a "Thalassophile," a person who loves the sea or an avid bird watcher; but when the sun goes down, one thing is certain: the best of Cypriot evenings are the warm moments when you are with your loved ones or just have a conversation with the locals who will make you feel at home...

Good night!

If we're ready to put the day behind us, who do you want to be the star of the night? There is always room for nights filled with music and dancing or a quiet ceremony with your loved ones. Don't forget to say goodnight to the moon twinkling from the sky before falling asleep after a perfect day. Cyprus, like its fertile nature, is always willing to share many different stories at any time of the day…

There is much to discover in this beautiful land where Aphrodite was born.
